 Let's Talk Books! The last year has seen many events unfold throughout the world, from a world-wide pandemic to the American Election but what has kept so many of us strong throughout these last twelve months have been the fictional worlds that we can escape to through books, if even just for a few hours. In this list, you will find 5 of the Top Young Adult Fantasy books of 2020 along with a recorded book talk by yours truly that focuses on the topics and content of each that might be of interest to you as a reader.  Like the last post I made back in October, the Nightingale Private Library is currently unable to loan any materials and so I strongly encourage you to check these books out at your local public or community library.   Young Adult Genre Exploration In the world of books, there are countless genres and subgenres that we read and come to love, with our favourites decorating our shelves and collections. As someone who has difficulty myself trying to step outside of my love for particular genres and authors, I have collected together fifteen books from five different genres that I hope will inspire and encourage you to embrace something different and find your next favourite read or even genre. Publisher Showcase: Rick Riordan Presents

One of the newest Imprints under the Disney-Hyperion family of Hachette is that of Rick Riordan Presents , a publishing company that started in 2017 and promoted by Rick Riordan. Disney had originally proposed a similar concept to Riordan and his editor, Stephanie Lurie, years previous, however, he had declined the offer as he was busy writing and planning multiple series of his own at the time and would be unable to properly oversee and promote an Imprint.  The goal of this imprint is to create at minimum four books per year from different authors and backgrounds and expand upon the stories of myth and folklore that are available to middle-grade readers and particularly fans of Riordan's work. This month's Author Spotlight is Rick Riordan , the #1 New York Times bestselling author of over twenty novels for readers of all ages, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians , the Heroes of Olympus , the Kane Chronicles ,   Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard ,  and the Trials of Apollo .
